INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF TEXAS

About Me

Sonia I Sanchez
My name is Sonia I Sanchez and am very excited to be a part of International Leadership of Texas’ First Grade Team. I have been blessed with an incredible husband (20 years) and three wonderful daughters, Khaila (19), Micaela (17), and Gabriela (14) and a beautiful Shih Tzu named Coco. I graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington and possess Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminology and in Criminal Justice. I had never worked with children until seven years ago. I had always worked with adults and found it very rewarding to be able to make an impact in someone’s life. The individuals I worked with needed some sort of guidance in their life and working for a chemical dependency non-profit organization for many years, allowed me to do just that. Working for this organization also opened the doors to be able to work closely with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Texas Commission of Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Ten years ago, my family and I had to move to Fort Worth due to my spouse’s employment. Three years after living here, I had an opportunity to work for the Euless Police Department as a 911-Dispatcher until I found my true calling at an Elementary School and became an ESL/Bilingual Interventionist for BISD. I have worked with all grade levels from K-5th Grade. My passion is to work with children and being able to make an impact in their academic development and in their daily lives. My goal is to be a mentor for every child, enhance their imagination & intelligence, and make them future leaders in our society!
